Early Arrival & Extended Stay Options
For students needing housing between academic sessions, Early Arrival and Extended Stay options are available at a flat rate of $60 per night (not included in summer housing fees).The Early Arrival and Extended Stay rates are noted below for each summer session. All rates are charged as a flat fee and are not pro-rated based on dates of occupancy. Early arrival and extended stay is not guaranteed for every session. Only residents enrolled in the Summer Session 1 (Full Summer Session) are eligible for both early arrival and extended stay housing.

Automatic Enrollment: Students in Full Session, Session A, D, and E are automatically enrolled in Extended Stay if they apply by May 1st unless they opt out during their summer housing application.

Opting Out: Students who opt out must vacate housing by May 13 at 5:00 PM and cannot return until May 17 at 10:00 AM.

Early Arrival Application: Required for students opting into early arrival housing. Available July 1 – August 1 in the Housing Portal.

Beacon Hall 2026 Summer Rates
Only residents with a fall housing assignment are eligible for housing in Beacon Hall. Current residents who selected a new space for the fall can anticipate moving to their fall space on May 17 and will be assessed the full session housing fee that corresponds with that room type. Current Beacon residents who need summer housing and are not returning to Beacon for the fall will need to apply for summer housing on the Fairfax campus.

Beacon Hall Early Arrival and Extended Stay

Extended Stay and Early Arrival housing allows residents to remain in on campus housing between the end of their Spring 2026 and/or beginning of their Fall 2026 housing. The fee for early arrival housing and extended stay is $60 per night. This amount is not automatically included in the summer housing fee.
*Residents who apply for Full Session, Session A, D, and/or E will be automatically included in extended stay housing unless they opt out on the summer session housing application. Residents who opt out will need to completely move out of the residence halls by 5:00pm on May 13 and will not be able to move in again until 10:00 am on Sunday, May 17.
**Residents who opt into early arrival housing will need to complete the early arrival application between July 1-August 1 in the Housing Portal and agree to the $60/night fee as part of the application. Residents who do not apply for early arrival housing will need to complete the move out process when their summer housing agreement ends and will not be able to move in again until August 21, 2026.
