Spring 2025 Move-in Info

 Welcome to Living on Campus, Spring 2025! We will update this page with move-in details, like what to bring, where to check-in, and an overview of the move-in process.

General Move-In: January 17th

Residents attending Spring orientation sessions will be automatically approved for early arrival move-in on January 12. Only residents who have been approved will be eligible for early arrival. The general move-in period for Spring 2025 will begin at 10:00 am on January 17th.

 

Early Arrival Students Move-In is on January 12th

 

New students will check in at the Angel Cabrera Global Center (ACGC) before proceeding to their unloading zone.

Please check the chart below for your assigned move-in day and time.

Freshmen should make every effort possible to move in on their scheduled day and time.

Those who cannot move in on their assigned day and time are welcome to move in later, but not earlier than their assigned date.

Upper-Level Students Self Check-in Process

Upperclass residents are welcome to move in between 9:00 am-4:00 pm between 

Upperclass students will have a new Self-Check-In Process, which allows them to select their planned move-in date and proceed directly to the unloading areas without going to ACGC first.

Welcome Centers with green bins, unloading passes, and maps will be located close to each unloading zone.

Sign up to the Housing Portal

If you have obtained your Mason NetID,  log in with your NetID and password. Your NetID is the beginning of your gmu.edu email account. You can get access to meal plans, housing policies, room policies, and more! 

 

                                                  

Your Room Measurements

Before you move in, it’s good to get familiar with the room measurements. Check out this link below! Decorating your room is one of the ways you can begin making a comfortable and home-like space for yourself. Remember, consult with your roommate and the  Mason Housing facilities team for advice when decorating your room.                                         

Log into your Mason Email

A Mason NetID (username) is a unique personal identifier that enables you to access online systems that use the Patriot Pass Password Management System. It serves as your login to many university computing and networking services and also determines your Mason email address, which is NetID@gmu.edu.                                                                                            

Review the Housing Agreement

This agreement (“Agreement”) governs the relationship between George Mason University (“University” or “Mason”) and any student living in Mason-managed housing (“Resident”). Get Your Mason ID Card

Add your Mason ID to your mobile devices and conveniently access your meal plans, Mason Money, building entrances, and all campus services at your fingertips. If you want to opt for a physical Mason ID, visit the Mason Card Office during business hours.

Purchase Your Parking Permit

Purchase your parking permit via My Parking Portal and associate your virtual permit with your vehicle. Parking permit sales start in late July 2024 and must be purchased each semester. Check the parking website for updates.

Where can I park to unload?

  • Parking for students moving into the Shenandoah area of campus (Liberty Square, Potomac Heights, Presidents Park, or Taylor) will be able to park and unload in Lot R and within Presidents Park.
  • Students moving into Whitetop or Rogers can park and unload in Lot I. 
  • The Rappahannock Deck will be available to students moving into Blueridge, Eastern Shore, Hampton Roads, Nothern Neck, Piedmont, Sandbridge, or Tidewater  University Commons. 
  • Townhouse residents can unload in the space closest to their unit

Where can I check-in?

  • First-year students will check in at the Angel Cabrera Global Center.
  • Uppelevel students will be able to complete a self-check-in process. 

Can I use a green bin to help move belongings into my space?

Yes. Green bins will be available for checkout at Eisenhower and Piedmont Halls.
