The Commons
The Commons is seven traditional-style residence halls housing about 500 first-year students located in the center of campus. Traditional style means the rooms on the floor/wing share a community bathroom (with the same gender). Most rooms are double occupancy, but a few single rooms are available. Hanover Hall is located within The Commons and features a community kitchen, lounge, study space, and classrooms. The Commons are home to our Honors College, Schar School's Democracy Lab, and Well-Being Residential Learning Communities.
The Commons Room Layout Options
Traditional Single – A private bedroom for one student in traditional-style housing. Residents share a communal bathroom located on the floor. Traditional Single rooms are reserved for students with approved housing accommodations through the Disability Services Office.
Traditional Double – A bedroom shared by two students in traditional-style housing. Residents share a communal bathroom located on the floor. This layout offers a classic on-campus residence hall experience.
