Our experienced live-in professional and student staff are available in each residence hall, and housing is comprised of several units — Facilities and Operations, Residential Student Engagement (Reslife) and Education, Residential Student Success, and Divisional Shared Services — all of which play a vital role in supporting our students' health, safety, and well-being. Our housing facilities are extended to more than 12,000 guests attending summer camps, and academic programs at George Mason University each summer. Mason Housing also provides housing for conference attendees who can also rent space in one of our multi-purpose rooms for meetings, training, and other gatherings.

Summer Camps & Conferences
Mason provides housing for conference attendees who can also rent space in one of our multipurpose rooms for meetings, trainings, and other gatherings. Our largest multipurpose spaces can accommodate 60 people.

🛋️ Spacious Lounges
Each residence hall includes spacious lounge areas for meetings or relaxation. Plus, our beautiful green campus spaces are perfect for walks and group activities during warm summer evenings.
Step 1: Submit an Inquiry
Use the Initial Inquiry Form. A member of our Summer @ Mason team will reach out to begin planning your stay.
Step 2: Sign a Contract
Once your event details are confirmed, we'll email your event coordinator with the Contract & event specifics, the Deposit instructions, and the Certificate of Insurance requirements.
Step 3: Finalize
After submitting your signed contract, deposit, and COI, we’ll confirm your room assignments and any final information.
Step 4: Prepare for Arrival
Send us your finalized list of attendees and room assignments two weeks before your event: stay@gmu.edu
Check-In: Begins at 3 p.m. on your reservation start date. Check-Out: By 12 p.m. (noon) on the reservation end date. Please remember to return all keys and access cards to the housing desks.
Step 5: After Your Stay
We’ll send a detailed invoice that includes total charges, damages or lost key/card fees (if applicable), and payments received.
Summer Housing FAQs
When do I need to submit the participant list and room assignments?
Please send a finalized list of participants and their room assignments to stay@gmu.edu no later than two weeks before the reservation start date.
What time is Summer Housing check-in?
Check-in begins at 3 p.m. on the reservation start date.
Do I need to provide any documents upon arrival?
Yes, please provide Mason Housing with an itinerary of all conference activities and schedules upon check-in.
What time is checkout?
Checkout must be completed by noon on the reservation end date.
What should I do with the keys and access cards at checkout?
All issued keys and access swipe cards must be returned before departure.
When will I receive an invoice for my event?
Mason Housing will mail a detailed invoice to the Conference Coordinator after the event. This invoice will include charges, any damages (if applicable), lost key/access card fees (if applicable), and prior payments.
